Ok, if I am being completely honest, about 80% of my brides come to me wanting some form of Rustic Elegance. It has been pretty darn popular across the blogosphere – at least in the last year or so and I get it – its beautiful and approachable. The thing is … Rustic Elegance, or “Elegant Rustic” can mean SO many different things. And although my brides may come from the same broad theme, their end result is always unique and true to them. This time, when I began designing for Ashley and Kyle’s October wedding, I divided my thoughts into a few different mood boards to see where we fit on the spectrum of rustic vs elegant. The first one, strayed much more to Rustic. You will see the cowboy boots, lots of warm textures, wood, and a casual homelike vibe.

The second board I created went to the other side of the spectrum. It leans much more to the glam/elegant side. This board still has a lot of rustic undertones with wood tables, and an outdoor atmostphere, yet plays more with the accent color purple and glittery gold.

The third board ( and the one we chose) is right in the middle. Exactly what I would interpret as Rustic Elegance. It is lush with flowers and greenery, but simplistic and understated in accents. I am SO excited for their big day. It is going to be a stunner!!

All 3 of these can be considered Rustic Elegance. When putting together your wedding, it is SO important to put together a mood board so everyone is on the same page. It also helps you choose all of your decor throughout the process and keep you focused instead of getting lost in the pinterest madness.
